Found what fits
Five years ago, Salim walked into Kleyn with an open application. “I started in the Delivery department and worked there for the first year. When help was needed in department Commercial Administration (ComAd), I stepped in and began working on license plate registrations. At first, I only worked there for half a day, but I enjoyed it so much that I stuck around. My manager, Colinda, also told me that a commercial role suited me better.”
Today, Salim has grown into the role of Coordinator for both the Delivery and ComAd departments, where he builds bridges between the two.

Everyone in the right place
“What drives me in my work? As a coordinator, I want to make sure everyone is in the right place and enjoys what they do.” That human touch is visible in everything he does. “I enjoy streamlining processes and improving communication between departments. Communication is key. When that goes well, understanding follows, and everything runs more smoothly.”

From 0 to 100
Salim came to the Netherlands from Syria in 2016 and started at Kleyn in 2020. When asked what he’s most proud of, he says: “That I’ve made big steps within the company. I started with zero experience, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.”
“At Kleyn, I followed training programs and language courses. That helped me grow in my role, and thanks to those courses and the support of my colleagues, my Dutch has improved tremendously.”
From the start, Kleyn felt like a place where he could grow. “They really look at what suits you. There are several people here who started in completely different roles.”
And the future? It’s still wide open, but one thing is certain: Salim wants to keep developing himself at Kleyn.
