Vilius, Inspector

"I'm happy with every new sentence I learn."

Monday = Dutch Day

Every Monday, colleagues from all over the world join a Dutch language class. One of them is Vilius, our inspector from Lithuania. "I'm a technician and don’t have a knack for languages. Things like math and logic come easy to me, but learning a new language? That’s a challenge. Dutch grammar and all those unfamiliar sounds are quite tough. Still, I’m happy with every new sentence I learn."

"Humor is a language too."

A workday gets better with language

"What I already know makes my day more fun. I understand better what my colleagues are saying, I can make jokes, and I know what all the buttons in the inspection app mean. Even doing math in Dutch is easier now—thanks to the dartboard during breaks! My favorite sentence? ‘Nice weather today, wasn’t it supposed to rain?’ My colleagues taught me that one and crack up every time I say it. Now they call me the ‘nice weather today guy’. Humor is a language too."
